CopyControl

CopyControl has largely been superseded by CopyMinder.

To achieve CopyControl's very high security level for Floppy protection, it utilises 16-bit code at its core. The latest 64-bit versions of Windows no longer support 16-bit code so CopyControl is not compatible with them. This, together with the fact that very little software is shipped on floppy disk these days, has caused us to stop developing CopyControl.

CopyControl under Windows Vista
We do not encourage or support the use of CopyControl on Windows Vista. No version of CopyControl will work under any circumstances on Vista 64 bit, floppy disk protection will not work on Vista 32 bit and Unlockit protection will only work on Vista 32 bit if UAC is disabled (moreover, we cannot guarantee this or support such installations).

The new CopyMinder system includes the functionality of CopyControl UnLock-It, Try-It and KeyCall as standard but is also compatible with the new versions of Windows. In addition, if users have Internet access, CopyMinder can provide a much better experience for both your users and you. Click here for more details.

In most cases, we strongly recommend that you adopt CopyMinder rather than CopyControl.

UnLock-It

Activation-based protection system
Protected software can be distributed on all media (including Internet)
Easily integrated into your software package
Gives you total control over when, where and how often your software is run

KeyCall

Allows you to automatically activate UnLock-It installed copies using the Internet
Very flexible so that it can fit in with your particular requirements
Can be integrated into an automatic Internet credit card payment (e.g. NetBanx)
Works with UnLock-It and Try-It

Try-It

Allows you to create full-function demos
No limit on the number of programs protected so you can distribute 1000s for little cost
Protected programs can be easily converted to UnLock-It protected programs using a unique code
Permits automatic selling via the Internet

Floppy

Protected software can be distributed on floppy disk only.
No activation codes necessary
Very robust against hardware and software "bit-copiers"
Can purchase option for autoloaders
