We offer three models of Dinkey Dongle: Dinkey 1S, Dinkey 2 and Dinkey Net. The following should help you decide which will most suit your needs. Dinkey 1S provides you with a simple, secure and inexpensive way to protect your programs. It contains a unique dongle number and a software developer's serial number (SDSN) so you can protect your software to an individual dongle or to any dongle that belongs to you. It is possible to order dongles with specific dongle numbers which is ideal if you're planning on releasing more than one product. Dinkey 2 is more sophisticated. This dongle not only lets you protect your programs and produce upgrades, but also allows you to control your software. For each program to be protected you can:
Dinkey 2 also has a data area (fully encrypted, of course) that you can read and write (up to 432 bytes) so you can store confidential information, extra counters etc. You can specify these protection parameters for each program protected by a Dinkey 2 up to a maximum of 17 programs per dongle. In addition you can specify your own algorithms. This can be used to improve the security of your protection especially if reading or writing the dongle data area. Dinkey Net has all the features of Dinkey 2 plus extra facilities to enable one dongle to control the use of your software on a whole network. You can use it to avoid having to install dongles on all the workstations and/or to restrict the number of simultaneous users of your software.
