Error 465

Problem: The OS has detected the dongle but there was an error communicating with the dongle.

On Linux, this error can occur if the inst script was not run, or if an old version of inst was used.

This error can also occur if the computer went into sleep or hibernate mode and did not correctly restore power to the USB ports on wake-up. In this case you might have to remove the dongle and then attach it again in order for it to work correctly.

It may occur on some virtual machines if the USB port virtualisation is not working correctly.

If the error occurs every time the dongle is accessed: On Linux, run the inst script included with the latest SDK. If this does not solve the problem, or if you are using a different operating system, this error suggests that the dongle hardware is faulty or damaged. Contact Microcosm or to your distributor to see if the dongle needs to be replaced.

If the error occurs intermittently: Ensure that your software is protected with the latest version of the SDK. Check that the computer's motherboard and/or USB adapter drivers are up-to-date. Also check the dongle and USB port for signs of damage or a loose connection.
